Interview with Simone Maio, Managing Director of La Cilentana Maio
How did your company develop?
La Cilentana Maio GmbH has been in existence since November 2017. We are a young company. It was founded as we had already been producing pasta at the restaurant Eintracht in Lörrach ourselves for some time. Thus we already had the know-how, as well as the technology. In addition, the demand of our customers increased and the idea was born to open our own pasta production. At this new location we can produce up to 60 different types of pasta, ranging from dry pasta to stuffed pasta.
What are your specialities? Why do customers purchase pasta in your manufactory?
The fresh pasta, as well as the ravioli with the fillings that we put together ourselves. Nothing is bought premade. Everything is produced with the best components and without harmful substances.
What makes you proud to work here?
The family tradition that has existed for more than 30 years. And, that we have the luck to run La Cilentana Maio here in the centre of Lörrach and thus being able to sell the pasta even closer to the customer.
Who are your customers?
Whether young or old, everyone likes, loves and eats pasta. Our customers are always fascinated to discover how pasta can be rediscovered again and again. It is not a boring product and you can always create a special dish with it.

With a lot of care and experience we produce our varieties of homemade pasta. It is important to us to avoid all harmful substances and to give you an Italian experience at the table. In addition to pasta, we also produce bread, as well as various sauces, which all can be purchased in our manufactory.
